Mark Perry
Director / Producer
Mark is a senior film and moving image major at Stevenson University with a concentration in cinematography and editing track, and director of this project. He is president of CRU at Stevenson and had the opportunity to help launch United Church in Owings Mills, MD. After first hearing about the community in Toube last year, he has been determined to tell their story. He is super excited for the opportunities this project is creating, and the group of people that this project will bring together.
Will Johnston
Producer / Assistant Director
Will is a senior film and moving image major at Stevenson University with a concentration in producing and screenwriting. He is a producer and assistant director for The Africa Doc, and a part of the crew heading to Africa. He has completed a semester long internship with the Maryland Film Festival, and is continuing an internship with VPC Inc.
Rodney Mitchell
Director of Photography
Rodney is a senior film and moving image major at Stevenson University, and cinematographer on The Africa Doc. He has participated in the filming of multiple student films, and created multiple animations and stop motion shorts in the film program. He won the best actor award for the first annual Stevenson University FMI Awards at Stevenson University. He has directed multiple shorts in the film program, and is delighted to be working on this documentary for such a beneficial cause.
ROBERT MORISON III
Editor/BTS
Robert Morison III is the lead editor for The Africa Doc. He is a senior film & moving image major at Stevenson University. Robert has over five years of experience editing short films, documentaries, and corporate videos in both educational and professional environments.
JOHN TRAVERS
BTS/Creative Team
John Travers is a senior film and moving image major at Stevenson University with a concentration in producing and screenwriting, and a passion for directing. He is a the second unit director and a member of the creative team. He is the president of Stevenson University’s film and moving club, and scoreboard camera operator for the Baltimore Orioles.
Mariam Salahvarzi
Social Media
Mariam is a film and moving image major with a concentration in cinematography and editing. She is running the social media and promoting The Africa Doc. She is so excited to be a part of such a great project, and cannot wait to see what will come of it.
Erin Orwig
Creative Team
Erin Orwig is a senior Film and Moving Image major and Visual Communication and Design minor at Stevenson University. She is an aspiring director, a part of starting two movements; Stitching Maryland Together and York’s 10,000 Acts of Kindness, and she can’t wait for audiences to see The Africa Doc. Erin believes that some stories simply have to be told and this is one of them, enjoy.
Jenna Miller

Jenna Miller is a senior film and moving image major at Stevenson University with a concentration in cinematography and editing. She loves what this project stands for, and is excited to be a part of something with such a strong and heartfelt message that will hopefully bring awareness to a larger issue.
